Overlooked CDs

This section of the Music Chamber contains albums by artists who, undeservedly, haven't received the same amount of exposure as many of today's hottest pop/rock acts. While many of these artists still enjoy a strong following by loyal fans, some of their albums have gone unheard by the general public. Here's your chance to discover, or in some cases re-discover, a few albums that would make a great addition to your CD collection.

Select an album below to read more information about it, and find out why it's included here and how you can get your hands on a copy. If you have any suggestions for additions to this collection, contact the architect.

The Cardigans - Life: A joyous collection of retro-pop, sung with the appealing voice of lead singer Nina Pearson

Fisher - True North: Take the lovely vocals of Kathy Fisher and add the production power of husband Wasserman, and you get this beaultiful album

Grant Lee Phillips - Mobilize: Artistic pop album filled with catchy hooks and great melodies

The Januaries - The Januaries: Fresh new music with a 60's vibe that recalls the sounds of the summer of love

Michael Kaeshammer - No Strings Attached: Talented pianist delivers an impressively played, foot-tapping collection of boogie woogie, ragtime, and blues

Gina Kaz - Decipher: A rising artist in Philadelphia who delivers piano-driven rock with an edge

Los Lobos - Just Another Band from East L.A.: A startlingly diverse compilation that shows the many sides of this Grammy-winning rock band

Los Straitjackets - Viva Los Straitjackets: Award-winning, high-energy group that provides the perfect soundtrack for your next surfin' safari

Poe - Haunted: An eerie yet highly-satisfying album that delivers terrific trip-hop songs with a very personal touch

Victor Wooten - A Show of Hands: An entire album devoted solely to the bass guitar? Sounds impossible, but one listen and you'll believe

Vinyl Kings - A Little Trip: Inspired by the Beatles, this album sounds like a lost collection of songs by the Fab Four themselves
