So, Song Bites hasn't had a contest in two years, and I stopped writing my weekly column. What happened? Well, two things. First, my wife and I moved into a new home about a year ago. Then, roughly two weeks later, we found out that we were going to have a baby. As you can imagine, new priorities started taking over my life. Here are a few more details about the life I'm leading:

My name is Chris Cosci, and I was born October 8, 1975. I grew up in Babylon, NY (on Long Island). I live with my wife Kristin, who also grew in Babylon. You can read more about us and our 25-year-old friendship in Observations Vol. LXVII. After moving around Long Island to Rockville Centre and Garden City, we returned to our roots and moved into our own home in Babylon.

On April 27, 2007, we welcomed our first child, Evan Michael. While we're still adjusting to the life of parents, we're loving it all. He's a terrific kid and his smiles make every day more and more wonderful.

My parents still live in Babylon (as do my wife's parents). I have one older brother, Rich, who is married and has three wonderful children (two daughters, one son). I also have one younger sister, Kim, who recently returned to college to get a degree in physical therapy.

I have been caretaker of Nysom Castle since its inception in October, 1996. Outside of running this Web site, I teach for Kaplan Test Preparation. I primarily teach the LSAT (which I find to be a fascinating and occasionally fun test), but I also teach the SAT and GMAT, and I train new teachers coming into to company.

As for hobbies, I enjoy music in all aspects, including listening (spanning genres such as Pop, Rock, Alternative, Classical, and Jazz), playing (percussion, including a little piano), and writing. In the rest of my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing games, and occasionally playing golf and bowling (not at the same time).

Basically, I just try to enjoy my life and hope that I help others enjoy their lives in the process. That should be enough for now. So don't just sit there - go look around and have fun!
